“Xandiriet għall-Elezzjoni, 1996. Intervista mal-mibki Spiridione Sant, kandidat indipendenti għall-elezzjonijiet ġenerali ta’ l-1996. Is-Sur Sant jispjega l-programm elettorali tiegħu u bħas-soltu jkanta l-Innu Malti. Spiridione Sant twieled fid-19 ta’ Diċembru ta’ l-1927 u miet fit-2 ta’ Jannar ta’ l-2002.”
“This is a picture of Mr. Spiridione Sant who competed as an independent candidate in six consecutive elections, starting in 1976.
The indomitable Mr. Sant was never elected. Indeed he had the distinction of being the only candidate in Maltese history to receive zero votes in an election (in the First District in 1987) and he attracted an average of 7.6 first-preference votes per candidacy. Spiru Sant died in 2002.“
