SToM reports

The businessman at the heart of the bribery case that has rocked Enemalta’s oil procurement has asked for a pardon to turn on the rest of the network believed to be implicated in the case, The Sunday Times reveals today.

Neither the Government nor the police would confirm or deny the information, but sources confirmed oil dealer George Farrugia told the Police Commissioner on Friday he was willing to turn State witness.

The decision to recommend a pardon falls on the shoulders of the Justice Minister Chris Said but it’s likely to be based on the police’s and Attorney General’s assessment about the value of the information that Mr Farrugia could add to the extensive investigation that has already been carried out.

More details about the request and the corruption probe in The Sunday Times.

  1. Ask the PM if he knew anything about the enemalta sleaze and how long ago was he informed about it. December 23rd 2007 – 3 months before the last general election. at Castille should pull his memory bells.
