Residential homes within the community for persons with disability will help them become an essential part of community life, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has said.
He was speaking during a visit to one of the new residential homes in Rabat Gozo. “This project will help the needs and ease the minds of persons with disability as well as their families. This home will house ten people.
The Prime Minister explained the importance of such a project within the social sector, in favour of independent living for persons with disability, stating that government will continue working on this to help persons with disability.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disability Justyne Caruana said that renovation works on this property are going as planned and is expected to house the first residents sometime this year.
She stressed that similar work was ongoing in Siggiewi and a similar project will soon begin in Zabbar.
